Dónal Gunning is a Dublin-born, New Zealand-based musician making waves in the indie and rock music scene. His 2023 EP, Born to Perform, showcased his folk influences, but his latest work leans into a heavier, groove-driven rock sound. Performing regularly across New Zealand with his band, The Bucks, Dónal brings a mix of raw energy, Irish charm, and undeniable stage presence to every show.
Dónal Gunning’s latest single, Your 1, is set for release on March 20th across all streaming platforms. Inspired by the quirks of the Irish lexicon, the track plays with how phrases like "Your 1" or "Your Man" can confuse non-Irish speakers. Produced by Peter Jamieson in Wellington, the song blends hip-hop grooves, punchy rock breakdowns, and anthemic choruses, making it a must-listen for rock fans.

To celebrate the release, Dónal Gunning & The Bucks will headline a launch gig at Moon Bar, Wellington, on March 20th. A New Zealand tour is planned for later this year, with an Ireland tour in 2026.
