Hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland, Dubinski is a four-piece indie-rock band composed of brothers Eugene, Fergus, Donal, and Eoin Gaine. Bonded by both blood and music, the band took the name Dubinski in honor of their late mother's maiden name, a heartfelt tribute to their shared roots. Known for their electric live performances and knack for storytelling, Dubinski blends anthemic alt-rock with an unmistakable punk edge, creating music that’s as energetic as it is emotionally resonant.
Their latest single, "Homesick," released on 24th September, captures the highs and lows of life on the road. Written during two recent tours in Germany, the song dives into the exhilarating chaos of touring abroad, juxtaposed with the longing for home. The brothers bring this feeling to life with raw, vivid lyrics—drawing from real experiences like stumbling upon someone charging passers-by to throw darts at a picture of Putin, or catching a glimpse of sheep grazing along the banks of the River Rhine near Düsseldorf. Produced by Grammy Award winners Mike Horner and Robbie Nelson, "Homesick" is an upbeat anthem that channels the thrill of travel and the ache of distance, striking a chord with anyone who’s ever felt torn between adventure and the comforts of home.
Reflecting on the song, the band explains: “We wanted to capture the memories as we lived them. After a particularly bouncing gig, we stayed up half the night to write the song in real time, feeling every moment.”
Dubinski first burst onto the scene with their self-titled debut album in 2022, recorded at London’s iconic RAK Studiosand released through Gnu Roam (Kartel Music Group). The album paved the way for extensive international touring, showcasing the band’s signature high-energy performances. Now, as they prepare to drop their second album, "What Is Your Definition Of Happiness?" in January 2025, they’re poised to take their sound even further, working once again with renowned producers Horner and Nelson.
Fans won’t have to wait long for more; a music video for "Homesick," featuring behind-the-scenes footage from their German tour, is coming soon. It promises a glimpse into the chaotic and colorful experiences that inspired the track.
